Dying For Diamonds
By Patricia Brown
Retired schoolteacher Eleanor Penrose has a busy and sometimes complicated life. It becomes even more complex when she comes into possession of a mysterious chest filled with diamonds and a notebook stuffed with secrets.
When a mean-spirited mystery writer visiting the sleepy coastal town gets murdered, Eleanor and her coffee club quickly find themselves involved.
Family secrets and the bonds that we share are examined and tested as Eleanor, her retired detective friend Angus, the coffee club ladies, and Feathers, the irascible African grey parrot, work to solve the puzzles without becoming the murderer’s next victims.https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/43348457-dying-for-diamonds
Book 2 of A Coastal Coffee Club Mystery Series was a wonderful read. I read it in one day. I just couldn’t put it down. Sharleen Nelson from Glad Eye Press sent this book to me along with book 1. Brown does it again. Her writing style grabbed my attention and sucked me in.
I started this book the morning after finishing A Recipe for Dying since I was eager to get back to Eleanor and her friends. I loved so many things about this book. Eleanor may have been elder, but I loved that she still had new things to learn about relationships with family, and friends, and even romantic. In life we should never stop learning or trying to better ourselves and our relationships.
Brown proved once again that she can make magic with her words. She weaves an intricate story of mystery and action, and love and friendship. I loved the way she slowly revealed more and more clues and left me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out where this book was going to go. I always love when a book can surprise me and this one left me questioning things. I had my guesses and my suspicions, but I was never sure how things would play out until I read it.
This was a great read and I highly recommend the series.
